Our road and transport networks have seen a massively challenging 2026 on the back of extreme weather events. Some of which have extended for many weeks whilst others have been short and intense.
These changes reflect a stepchange from what we as practitioners have observed and dealt with for well over 10 years. Whilst Scotland has not seen the extreme temperatures of the southern part of the UK, we are still seeing the impact of historically low levels of rainfall on wider public services and infrastructure.
