Road Expo Scotland a success
The recent free trade exhibition 'Road Expo Scotland' at Ingleston was, for the third year running, supported by a syucessful two-day conference organised jointly by Transport Scotland and SCOTS.
The theme for day one was 'Roads on a Budget' with speakers setting out the challenges facing Transportation in Scotland, suggesting ways to get more value and better resilience. Day two was about 'Roads Works Management' and asked 'Are Things Getting Better?' then continued the theme of resilience in terms of Managing Climate Change effects.
The number of visitors to the exhibition and conference was up from last year. Visitors were able to choose which parts of the conference were of interest to them. The presentation by TRL, Transport Scotland and Colas looking at 'innovative pavements' was particularly well attended with standing room only. On both days there was opportunity for information exchange by way of presentations by some of the exhibitors.
A resume of the presentation by Ewan Wallace, SCOTS Vice-Chair, is available here.
